To change the provisional driving licence, you have to pass the final stage training within 24 months after acquiring the provisional driving licence.
You can take the final stage course right after getting the provisional licence. If the student has acquired the licence during autumn months, is is even more advisable so that the student could have the first experience before winter on a closed and safe training field, not on a slippery road.
Important when taking the course:
The training consists of three parts.
Theory, which covers the knowledge about slippery driving and eco driving. The amount is 3 lessons.
The purpose of eco driving is a smooth, ecofriendly and safe driving, accompanied by fuel economy. The amount is 1 driving lesson.
Slippery driving (driving in winter) will take place all-year-round on a slippery track training field. The course will cover different exercises which imitate typical dangerous traffic situations. You will learn how to drive a vehicle on slippery roads, which braking techniques to use on a straight road or a road with turns, how to safely go around an obstacle on the road and how to regain control over an out of control vehicle. The student will have practical experience how to recognise sliding and how to react properly. The slippery driving lasts for approx. 2 hours (depending on the size of the group) with a practical part.
You can check out the curriculum here.
Choosing a training course
We offer different types of final stage training, from which you can choose the most suitable. The amount of training is the same in all types. We offer final stage training as face-to-face courses as well as e-courses.
One-day training
All parts of the training will be completed on one day. The length of the training day is approximately 7–12 hours including breaks.
Training on several days
Quick training
All stages of training (face-to-face lecture, slippery driving, eco driving) are completed in a row at the same place, lasting only 4,5–5 hours. You have to complete two lessons of theory (+ tests) online beforehand.
You can also complete the training with a vehicle that has automatic transmission. The participant’s driving licence will receive no special notes.
You can complete the final stage training as an e-course.
During driving lessons we use new Toyota vehicles that are not older than 2 years or that do not have more than 90 000 km on the meter. Newest technology guarantees comfortable and safe driving lessons.
Finishing the training
If you have passed all stages of training, you can apply for an electronic certificate of a category A power-driven vehicle driver course, for which you have to:
- submit an application through the e-autokool.eu environment
- submit an application in our offices
In order to apply for the right to drive, you can now also register to exams in a Transport Administration’s traffic register office of your choice or online.
